HARTFORD, Ky. (October 31, 2026) — The City of Hartford is celebrating the creativity, community spirit, and seasonal enthusiasm of local residents and businesses following the judging of its 2026 Haunt & Harvest Decorating Contest.
This year’s contest featured 12 participating homes and businesses, with displays ranging from traditional autumn harvest scenes to elaborate Halloween decorations featuring lighting, handcrafted elements, and imaginative designs.
After reviewing the entries, judges selected the following winners:
Residential Division
- First Place: Tesia & Frank Harris — 715 Old Main Street
- Second Place: Jeremy & Brandy Chinn — 936 Old Main Street
Commercial Division
- First Place: Main Street Flowers — 219 S. Main Street
- Second Place: Restored 367 — 103 W. Union Street
Judges praised the overall quality of this year’s entries, particularly the continued efforts of returning participants who expanded and improved their displays from the previous year.
“One of the most exciting things about judging this year’s contest was seeing how much some of our returning participants had built upon their displays from last year,” the judges shared. “The creativity and engineering behind the Harris family’s display really stood out.”
The commercial division also impressed judges with the variety and quality of visual displays, making the selection of a winner particularly challenging.
“The businesses did a wonderful job creating visual experiences that capture the spirit of the season. From storefront arrangements to recognizable scenes, the imagery throughout the commercial entries was fantastic. The decision between Main Street Flowers and Restored 367 was especially close, and both deserve recognition for their outstanding efforts.”
Winners should call City Hall to confirm a date for prize pick-up before visiting.
The City of Hartford extends its appreciation to all participating residents and businesses for contributing to the community’s festive atmosphere.
Additional residential participants included Trevor and Britney Keele, Austin and Rachel Hatfield, Tabitha Hall, and Jacob Henderson. Commercial participants included the Ohio County Public Library, Little Friends Playhouse, Commonwealth Community Bank, and New Beginnings Hair Design.
