Hartford to celebrate WWII Veterans

The Ohio County Public Library and the city of Hartford will honor the county’s World War II veterans all next month.

“Their Service, Our Salute” will feature a unique series of displays and activities throughout the month of March. These events include a display of banners at the library listing the names of all Ohio County military personnel from WWII, a screening of “The Monuments Men,” and an open house at the Ohio County Veteran’s Museum.

The celebration will wrap up with an emotional final ceremony at the Courthouse Square with a 21-gun salute to veterans by the Ohio County Honor Guard.

Additionally, a display of WWII artifacts from a collection owned by amateur historian Dan Crews will be set up at the library.
