The City of Hartford invites residents and businesses to join in the 2026 Haunt & Harvest Residential and Business Decoration Contest, a community-wide celebration of fall creativity, neighborhood spirit, and festive fun.
From glowing jack-o’-lanterns and eerie entryways to rustic autumn displays of pumpkins, mums, hay bales, and golden gourds, the contest encourages participants to decorate in a style that celebrates the season — whether that means haunt, harvest, or a creative blend of both.
Participation is free, and the contest is open to Hartford residents and businesses. Homes, porches, storefronts, yards, and entryways can all become part of the fun as the community comes together to showcase seasonal displays throughout the city.
Organizers encourage festive, family-friendly decorations that can be enjoyed by neighbors and visitors of all ages. Prizes will be awarded to the top two overall winners of the business and residential categories. First prize is $200; Second prize is $100.
Entries must be submitted by October 20, 2026. Judging will take place from October 24–30, with winners announced by October 31 on the Hartford, Kentucky Facebook page and at hartfordky.org.
