Light Up Hartford Announces 2025 Decoration Contest Winners

Hartford, KY — The holiday spirit was shining bright across Hartford this season! Today, the city of Hartford is happy to announce the winners of the 2025 Light Up Hartford Decoration Contest. Homes and businesses throughout the community dazzled judges with festive creativity, classic charm, and seasonal cheer.

Judging was conducted by a panel that included homeowners recognized on the Owensboro Times 2025 Best Christmas Lights of Owensboro list, adding a special level of expertise and appreciation for decorating to this year’s competition.

Business Category Winners

  • First Place ($200): Ohio County Times-News, 314 South Main Street
  • Second Place ($100): Kentucky Counseling Partners, 434 Liberty Street
  • Most Creative (bragging rights): Twice As Nice Consignment, 103 West Union
  • Classic Christmas (bragging rights): Commonwealth Community Bank, 830 South Main Street

Residential Category Winners

  • First Place ($200): James & Susan Fulkerson, 30 Mountaintop Court
  • Second Place ($100): Tabitha Hall, 307 Iron Mountain Road
  • Classic Christmas (bragging rights): Rob & Cathy Johnson, 10 Copper Court
  • Most Creative (bragging rights): Tesia Harris, 715 Old Main Street
  • Winter Wonderland (bragging rights): Dr. Matt Paxton & Ashley, 226 E. Washington Street

First- and second-place winners received cash prizes; all other awards got the bragging rights and pride of a job well done. For money winners, please call City Hall before visiting to be sure your prize is ready for pick-up. Award winners received an email on December 29 to the email address provided at registration.

Judges noted that decisions were especially tight this year, with many outstanding displays making the process challenging. They commended Hartford residents and businesses for once again coming together to create another year of festive fun and Christmas magic throughout the community.

Light Up Hartford organizers extend their thanks to all participants and encourage everyone to continue spreading cheer in the years to come.
