The City of Hartford is announcing temporary road closures in preparation for this year’s OctoberFest celebration in historic downtown Hartford.
Beginning Thursday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m., the intersection of Liberty Street and East Washington Street will be closed to allow for stage installation ahead of the festivities.
Then, from 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24 through 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, the Hartford Square area will be closed to all traffic for OctoberFest events. This closure includes Highway 231 parking areas within historic downtown Hartford, the square and the community center.
