City of Hartford Announces Spring Family Activities and Golden Egg Hunt

Hartford, KY – The City of Hartford is excited to welcome the spring season with family-friendly activities designed to bring the community together, celebrate local history, and encourage outdoor fun.

Printable Coloring Pages

This year, the City has introduced a special collection of printable coloring pages featuring Hartford’s historic landmarks and a well-known artist connected to the community. Each page includes historical lessons, giving residents a creative way to learn more about Hartford’s rich heritage. With a variety of difficulty levels available, these coloring pages are perfect for participants of all ages—making it easy for the whole family to join in, even on days the weather may keep you inside. Historical Walking Tour:

Visitors and residents alike are invited to explore Hartford this spring break through the city’s Historic Hartford Walking Tour, a self-guided experience that highlights the rich history and unique character of our community. The tour features a variety of notable sites—from the Ohio County Courthouse and historic downtown to beautifully preserved homes and landmarks—offering a glimpse into Hartford’s past and the stories that shaped it. Accessible online (thanks to the videography of Grayson Cole) and easy to follow at your own pace, the walking tour is a perfect way to get outside, enjoy the season, and rediscover the heart of Hartford. Golden Egg Hunt Details:

In addition, the popular Golden Egg Hunt returns April 1–4, offering a fun and interactive adventure across Hartford. A total of 12 Golden Eggs will be hidden throughout the city in public outdoor locations.

  • Event details will be on Facebook at Facebook.com/HartfordKY.
  • All eggs will be hidden outdoors on public property—participants should not enter private property at any time.
  • Eggs will be placed no higher than five feet above the ground.
  • Each Golden Egg contains a Golden Ticket. Tickets must be fully completed with all required information.
  • Completed tickets must be returned by 1pm on April 5th to Hartford City Hall either:
    • In person during regular business hours, or
    • Via the after-hours drop box
  • Only one large egg/Golden Ticket per household is permitted.
  • Photocopied or duplicate tickets will not be accepted.
  • Winners will be notified using the phone number provided on the ticket, so participants should ensure their contact information is accurate and legible.
  • Participants assume all risks associated with the activity.
  • No trespassing is allowed.
